The business gurus will tell you: if you start with what you know your chances of success will be much greater. Okay, but suppose you want to try something new, something drastically different from your present career or a business that is way outside the your realm of experience? Should having no knowledge of that business stop you from pursuing it?
My answer is a resounding 'No!' You can start cold turkey and still be wildly successful.

When trying to make a decision about starting your own business, you will find yourself asking one of these questions:

* "How much experience do I need to start a home business?"
* "Do I have enough experience to start a home business?"

Textbook don't answer these questions. You can either go ahead hoping for the best, or you can go slowly analyzing every little step.

It is possible to go from being a bricklayer to a successful Internet Guru. There are true stories of partially educated teenagers who stumble on to a bright idea and become wildly successful.

A growing number of stay-at-home moms travel way out of their comfort zones into the untried world of business. Yet without prior preparation or knowledge of the world they were entering, met with stunning success. It is just a matter of how willing you are to take risks and educate yourself.

So, if you are the kind of person who likes to analyze your options then take time to evaluate all the factors, then stick with your preferences.

If you think that you need more business experience, there are a number ways to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for your venture. You can scour the Internet for education packages, or you could choose to get on-the-job training to give you some hands-on experience in your field of interest by teaming up with someone who already has an online business. There are definite advantages to working with someone else in your industry of choice. You "earn as you learn," while you increase your chances of becoming known online, which makes it much easier when you decide to go it alone.

Approach obstacles like learning how to run a home business or a new aspect of home business management, as an exciting challenge and meet the challenge head-on. Many of the successful entrepreneurs who started their ventures, did so without fully understanding the mechanics involved, like them you must motivate yourself to learn whatever is necessary to accomplish your goals.

Take the initiative! Learn everything you can about your prospective business - the product or service that you plan to sell, the niche you are thinking of entering, your competition and your prospective market. Be sure to do your homework.

If you possess common sense, the ability to learn new skills, are enthusiastic about taking risks, or have the courage to venture into the unknown, and the persistence to continue - you should be able to overcome the initial lack of expertise and be wildly successful. Have faith in yourself and determine come what may, you will have your own home business.

Resolve within yourself to meet the daily challenges with courage, giving the best you have to give. Running a successful home business is not magic, it is about finding the information you need, then putting it into practice, one step at a time.

Here's a neat trick: Use Microsoft Outlook's task manager to
prioritize your daily To-Do list. Outlook will let you manage
your tasks on a per hour basis. It is very crucial to avoid
procrastination if you plan on getting where you want to be in
5 years.

Here's the best part: Outlook will keep reminding you, if your
tasks have not been accomplished. This gives you absolutely no
excuses not to work. Which brings me to my next point...

4. Devote a *specific amount* of hours each and every day
to work on your business. To avoid

getting side tracked, DO NOT
surf the net, close your instant messenger conversations during
this period of time.

The more side tracked you become, the further away you will be
from your dreams.

5. Develop a positive routine - Research proves that eating
breakfast every morning, will help you to think better, and even
work more efficiently on your business.

Always take 15 - 30 minute breaks during the day to avoid
straining your eyes. Have a good night's sleep, (6 to 8 hours
is recommended.) Most importantly, try exercising daily because
this will help fuel energy through out your body.

6. Stay organized, and focused - Tape your goals list on the
wall by your work area, so that you will be reminded of what you
are striving towards, each and everyday.

This important step alone will help guide you towards your
ultimate goal, and keep you focused on what you should be doing.

If you ever feel that you don't have the energy to work on your
business, simply take a look at your long term goals list,
and let it remind you of your dreams.

Use this power to help you move forward in the direction you

7. Check your email ONCE every hour - Some of us love the idea
of receiving email daily, and in most cases would likely check
it every few minutes. This can be a very devastating routine
that you will become accustomed to, be sure you eliminate it

positive daily routine.

8. Have fun - This may be the most important step of all.
Make sure that you enjoy every minute you spend working on your

An Online Home Based Business Is Not Rocket Science

A few years ago when I first started my online home business I
didn't have a clue regarding how to go about it. I had never
done any Internet marketing, and didn't know anything about
websites or search engines or any of that other online business
stuff...in short, I was a complete rookie. In retrospect, the
two major things that really helped me was that I refused to be
intimidated and I kept a realistic perspective (both in terms of
initial financial results and the time frame necessary to become
successful).

I know from my own years of experience that relatively few
business ventures are started on the Internet by people with
the experience, motivation, determination, backing, and support
that it takes to even have a reasonable chance of success.

Real online business people are those who work hard, who immerse
themselves deeply in marketing and advertising, and who put in
long hours in the beginning in order to see their Internet-based
businesses succeed.

Achieving success in an online business is not difficult to
comprehend. There is indeed a learning curve, but it's not brain
surgery. The process of learning isn't as much the issue as are
the personal traits of motivation and determination.

Develop your marketing plan and execute it. There's no magic in
this online home based business stuff. We're talking real world
here. It's not nearly as romantic as winning the lottery, yet
many of the thousands of people I have helped to start up their
home businesses on the Internet clearly came in with what I have
come to refer to as the "magic/lottery" mentality. Many of those
folks went off to chase another rainbow after a few months, but
some of them also came to their senses and buckled down to
develop very successful home based businesses.

Run, don't walk, away from all of those people that offer you
"shortcuts" or "success secrets" (probably in exchange for some
of your money). I mean, if they had it all figured out, why
would they sell this "magic answer" to you for a few bucks
instead of just keeping it private and then making tons of
money for themselves? (I'll leave it to you to connect the dots)

A key point to always keep in mind is that...business is
business. Regardless of whether you are on the Internet or
operating a business in a shopping mall. The same
fundamental principles apply to both businesses.

1) You need to have a product, or products, to sell.

2) You need to advertise to get customers to buy your
products.

3) You need to provide support to your customers who buy
your products as a result of your advertising efforts.

4) You need to build a loyal customer following, so you can
maintain a profitable business over a period of time.

Many people fall into the trap of believing that because
they are doing

business on the Internet, some of these steps
can either be skipped or they need to overemphasize one area
or another.

The bottom line regarding an online business is that you will
need to advertise and you will need to take care of your
customers.

Run your online home business just like a real company
because it is, in fact, a real business and you have a real
opportunity to either be successful or to fail. The primary
difference between an online business and a traditional
business is location (no traditional "storefront"). Nearly
everything else is essentially the same. You have products
and your objective is to sell those products to people who
want/need your products.

Remember, building a business takes time, determination,
and patience. Far too many people seem to think that the
traffic is just going to pour in once they have put up their
own website on the Internet. As anyone who has had a website
for a while knows...this simply is not true, but it is often
the reason people get frustrated and quit. The fact of the
matter is that you need to diligently promote/advertise your
website in order for your online home based business to
flourish and prosper.

One of the most important bits of advice that I can pass on to
you is that you must be patient. Most people start their online
home business with great enthusiasm and high expectations. Often,
after a few months, they become disappointed and frustrated
because they are not already making a large amount of money.

These impatient home business entrepreneurs then often start to
jump from one program to another every few months (never allowing
themselves enough time to succeed at any of them) and, finally,
throw up their hands in frustration and declare that they just
can’t make money online.

Stick with your business and don’t give up. Dogged persistence
(much like the tenacity of a pit bull) is an absolutely vital key
to your eventual success. Don’t give up when things become
frustrating and you are not achieving the immediate success you
expected. Give your online home based business sufficient time to
develop and you realize the success you are seeking.

There is nothing magical about running an online home based
business. It should be run the same as any traditional "bricks
and mortar" business and it will succeed or fail depending on
the time and effort you put into it.

very good living on the Internet, will you be the next one?

Many people start a home based business because they want to do what they love. However, running your business solely on a hobby you enjoy will not mean having a successful home based business. You need to be an entrepreneur. Learn all you can about the practical side of running a home based business and incorporate the practical into the enthusiasm about your home based business. Look at other successful home based business entrepreneurs, and take into consideration how they turned something they loved into a thriving home based business.

I've heard many people say they get lonely and miss being around work associates when they work at home. You should consider this as you think about starting a home-based business. Will you be able to work by yourself, will you get lonely?

There are people that are almost forced to work at home, such as disabled people, single moms or dads that can't afford daycare, or don't want to put their children in daycare. For these folks that didn't necessarily choose a home career it can be quite difficult.

To really enjoy a home business and keep yourself from going nuts, it's necessary to establish business hours and a routine.

It's best to get dressed every day at a reasonable hour, otherwise you find the whole day's gone and you're still in your pajamas. It's great to do that, it's just not good to do

Give yourself a defined meal and try to eat healthy. Don't grab a snack every half hour. Soon your body will expect to be fed every couple of hours, just like a new baby. Then you'll start packing on the pounds.

Try to get some fresh air every day. It's amazing how that will clear your head, solve problems and give you new ideas.

Using the "To Do" list approach mentioned in another article will keep you focused every working day. As you clean your list add new things for the following day and if you've finished it early, reward yourself by quitting early. But if you find this happening too often, you may not be challenging yourself enough--don't forget, you want your business to succeed!

Once you have made the decision to work from home, you should spend some time in planning and preparation. Having decided that an internet home business is the right thing for you to take up, the decision needs to be made as to what type of home business would interest you and what type of business would be practical for you in your particular circumstances. You will be spending a lot of time on the internet and Internet Explorer is extremely vulnerable to viruses, trojans, spy ware, adware and pop ups. While adware, spy ware and pop ups might not do serious damage, they will slow down your computer and you will obviously want to avoid this. Crazy Browser, Mozilla and Opera are all to be recommended and can be downloaded free. I have used all three of these browsers and they all do things slightly differently. They are all excellent so the choice is a matter of personal preference. Crazy Browser and Mozilla are especially good if you deal regularly with groups of websites: you can save a group of 8 or 10 different sites and, when you need them, you can go to them all with just one mouse click. You will realise the full advantages of these browsers when you come to use traffic exchange advertising.

Now that you have all these useful tools in your possession, spend a few hours getting to know them and practicing organising your favourites folders and groups.

recognize two of the most important factors for identifying
people that should NOT start a home based business.

If a prospective entrepreneur says something like...

"I'm broke and need to make some money...fast!"

or,

"I want to start a home business, but I don't want to spend
anything on it until after I start earning some money."

...it is certain that they have not "gotten real" and should not
attempt to start a home business under either of those
conditions. I refer to them as the "death sentences" for
starting a home based business.

Almost equally important is the need to have realistic economic
expectations when undertaking a home based business. There is no
magic here, folks. A home based business provides many rewards
such as working in the comfort of your own home, avoiding a
stressful commute, being your own boss, setting your own hours,
no dress code, etc., etc., but anyone that is also expecting
"instant riches" is

sadly mistaken.

There are a tremendous number of home business and work at home
opportunities offered on the Internet. Many of these are all
hype and try to convince you that you will be making huge amounts
of money in very little time (you know, stuff like..."you will be
making $5,000 per week, and more, in just a few weeks!"). You
should avoid these like the plague...if they were for real
everyone would be doing it.

Study the opportunities carefully and select the home business
opportunity that seems to fit your own particular style or
talents. What is a good choice for one person may be a very poor
fit for someone else. The common thread that applies to everyone
is that you must be "for real" (as indicated above) and the
business opportunity itself must be "for real".

It was back in 2001 when I started looking for viable work at home opportunities. It was a time consuming process, but in retrospect, I give myself a pat on the back every month when I cash the check from my home based business. The primary purpose of this article is to perhaps help others make their selection with a little less time and effort than I had to expend.

Having spent many years running traditional "bricks and mortar" type businesses, I didn't buy for one second the numerous heavily hyped, or worse yet, scam operations that touted the instant and fantastic riches that could be achieved (often with little or no effort required). While doing my research as to which business I would eventually pursue, this type of claim became an instant trigger for me to move on to check out some other "opportunity".

I mean, give me a break, if those claims were close to being true, why would they share their "secret" with anyone else? They would just execute their "magic system" and in short order would have made all the money that exists in the world...yeah, right!

In the course of my investigations, a few other natural filters surfaced to help me narrow down the realistic and legitimate opportunities from among the far too numerous unfounded offers. Early on, I determined that the "get in on the ground floor" offers were essentially smoke. After all, if I wanted to take a chance on the lottery, I would have purchased a ticket. Because of my business management experience, it soon became clear to me that three of the primary factors that would influence my choice would be:

*successful longevity (how long has this particular company been successfully doing business?)

*reasonable

income expectations touted by the top management of the company offering the opportunity.
*support systems and training resources available to help the participants succeed.

One thing that really struck home with me was a statement made by the founder of the company that I eventually selected for my home based business. It went something like the following:

"Hardly a day goes by that I don't hear from an affiliate questioning why he or she is not seeing a big check yet. More times than not, the person asking hasn't even been involved for more than 90 days and is only barely beginning to even understand how the whole system works. And frankly, even if the number was six months, it's still much too early to be expecting a significant income stream to have developed.

I always say that if you're not willing to give a business at least a year, don't even bother getting involved. You need to understand that it takes time to get to know all the nuances of the compensation plan. It takes time to determine which products you want to lead with. It takes time to develop a game plan. It takes time to figure out what marketing activities deliver the biggest bang for the buck. Anything worthwhile takes sustained effort. If you're not thinking long term, you've set yourself up for failure."

To sum it up, the selection process should focus on reality (there is no "magic" in home based businesses) and reject any so-called "opportunities" that seem too good to be true.

Everyone seems to be trying to work from home today. With the success most people are having from running a home base business everyone wants to get in on it. I myself have started up a home based business, but I keep my full time job. I have the time and freedom to do what I want to my business when I want.

Having started out small as a company operated in the garage of a friend and employing a staff of three, Google's meteoric rise to a top name on the Internet is not really that perplexing when we analyze the core strengths and policies of this company.

I am a super-fan of Google. I am also a fan of studying success so that I can learn from it. Here are a few key points that you, as a home based business entrepreneur, can learn from Google:

1) Capital Isn't Everything

It may be hard for the newcomer to the home based business scene to swallow this fact. After all, more capital investment would mean more money to spend on advertising and building a home business. Its tempting to think how your business would be right now if you had, say $100,000 to start with, instead of the meager $1000 you scrambled to get from selling things around your home.

But here's one thing more important than capital - ingenuity. Ingenuity involves making the best of the resources available to you, making every advertising dollar count, and treating every customer or prospect invaluable to your business.

Capital in the wrong hands, in the hands of an inexperienced entrepreneur or marketer, is just a waste of money. Ingenuity, on the other hand, can turn a $1000 capital into a thriving business. And yes, when you get the ingenuity part right, then whatever extra capital you get would be worth so much more.

2) Differentiate and Win - Think Outside the Box

Innovation, ability to think outside the box and a willingness to test ideas and make mistakes is the trademark of any truly successful company, especially in Google's case. Recently when Google's Gmail was launched, many ISPs and email providers were scrambling to offer more space to their free email accounts, simply because Google offered 1G of space. What they didn't get, however, was that Gmail was more that just about space.

So how did Google differentiate? They turned what would otherwise been just another email service into something much more. It is, as any user would be able to testify, the best way to store, organize and find information contained in emails. Keeping track of business responses and follow-ups is a breeze with Gmail. Try it yourself if you cannot believe that statement.

Many home based business entrepreneurs, especially the ones involved in network marketing, shiver at the word "saturated". In a network marketing environment it may dawn upon every person, at one point or another, that there are many others with products and opportunities that are similar to theirs, and the products that they are expected to sell may be in the highly competitive industries. I felt that way once too, but here's the real question - what can you offer?

Not too long ago a friend of mine, after completing her course on cosmetics, offered free facials and beauty consulting to promote cosmetic products sold by her network marketing company. By doing things most people were not doing at that time, she simple blew the competition away.

So what can you contribute to your home based business to make it different, to make it stand out from the crowd?

3) Give Your Customers Exactly What They Want

The success of Google's AdWords and AdSense is due to this simple fact - they gave advertisers exactly what they wanted. Marketers wanted a quick, results based, and dynamic advertising tool, and they got Adwords. Website owners wanted more advertising revenue, but did not want the hassle of maintaining it over the hundreds of pages that they have, and they got Adsense.

Its a pretty simple strategy - understand what your customers want and give it to them!

My ex-sponsor in my old network marketing company used to say that in order for me to move their nutritional supplements, I had to teach people that supplements can prevent many hazardous illnesses. Prevention is better than cure. But here's what I learned in a few years - the majority of people are looking for cures, not prevention.

Most of the people I met in Malaysia are looking for a cure to sleeping disorders, a cure for fatigue, a cure for arthritis, and so on.

Sure, it may be a noble deed to educate people about prevention, but the world does not always work that way. The majority of people look for a home based business only when they get retrenched, when they run out of savings, or when they retire. So why not make your recruitment efforts match this need? Why not develop your niche market based on this category of people?

Instead of teaching them about residual income and the power of duplication which they are not interested in, wouldn't your message be more effective if you taught them how to earn a comfortable retirement income, or how to replace their current income instead?

The point is this - as a home based entrepreneur you must understand your target market's need, and serve them well. You should focus on being the best in providing the cure, not the best in preaching about the prevention. Focus on customer needs, and they will flock to you.

4) Are You Having Fun?

Everything about Google spells fun. But don't get me wrong. They are probably the most innovative company at the moment.

The fact that they can present their complicated technology in such a simple way to end-users is an act that every company can envy. Have you ever heard anyone complain about Google search being too complicated to use? Yet as an Internet marketer I can go crazy trying to understand the complexity behind the simple white page and squiggly logo.

Leave the complexity of a home based or network marketing business behind the scenes. Teach people how to have fun, while achieving goals and building their business. Show them that you are having fun yourself, and they will buy, they will join, or at least tell someone else about you, and your exciting business.

When you're having fun, it will not seem like work at all. Everyone could use a little fun in their lives, don't you think?

5) Focus on Your Core Competency

Yes, this is another phrase that is thrown around in the business world, but how many entrepreneurs actually practice it? As a home based entrepreneur, you may find the need to explore other sources of income. There's nothing wrong in that, but here's the catch - don't go where the money is, especially if it's not related to what you're doing.

Many people tend to find other sources of income that is totally unrelated to their main home business. As a result of that, they become an expert in nothing, and they become the best in nothing. If you make custom furniture at home, why take a job at a fast food chain to make ends meet, when you can explore other ways to make money out of your core competency? Having woodworking workshops, writing a 'how to' book on woodworking, or even a sales job at a furniture outlet can make good sources of additional revenue, while building your name and expertise on your core competency itself.

Starting out as a search engine, Google pretty much maintained their core competency until today. When they explore other sources of revenue or develop new products, you can be pretty sure it's related to search technology. And the undisputed result of that is that there is simply no other better alternative when it comes to search and information retrieval.

Therefore, we have much to learn from the success story of Google. Just as much as the age old story of entrepreneurs who drop out of school, and go on to develop multi-million dollar businesses armed with nothing more than guts and ingenuity, Google's success story is inspirational to say the least.

A Home Based Business Means Quick, Easy Money...And Pigs Will Fly

Yup, here come those wonderful flying pigs!
Where does it ever end? I've been involved with Internet-based home businesses for several years and I continue to be exposed to a seemingly endless barrage of offers (all costing me money, of course) claiming to be "the secret" for making a fantastic income, in a very short time, and with very little effort involved.

I must admit that I may have a slightly self-serving reason for addressing this topic. My articles are published on my home-based business websites for the purpose of trying to give prospective team members a true sense of what is really involved with starting and developing a successful home based business. The self-serving part, I suppose, is that I want people joining my team to have the straight scoop going in so that we don't waste each other's time. I admit to being selfish in this regard (I don't want to waste time working with people that have unrealistic expectations), but it is also very efficient for both parties involved, so it is not a totally one-way thing.

Now, back to the topic at hand. There's no magic here, folks. Once you have selected the home business that you are going to pursue, there are no substitutes for time and effort in developing your business. A dream of being an "overnight success" is just that, a dream.

I can tell you from personal experience, that once you "pay your dues" and begin to have real success with a home based business, it is really terrific. Think about Nirvana or Valhalla, take your pick, but in any

event it's really sweet.
When I started developing a home based business, making a good income was obviously an objective, but I also had other sub-objectives. One of the most important things was to have nearly total time flexibility (I mean, if I was willing to continue to wear the 9-5 Mon-Fri collar I could just have just stayed in the previously "traditional" work force).

Time flexibility was (and still is) a "biggie" for me. Many people working at home have the same need for various reasons. For work at home moms, a home business can be a real godsend to accommodate the hectic time pressures, particularly when the kids are quite young and mom is also spelled "transportation". In my own particular case, the reason is not quite so noble...I just want (need?) to be able to pick up my fly rod and go fishing at a moments notice (sometimes I'll be gone for a week or two at a time, but now the business has enough momentum that it keeps on operating just as well as if I were here tending to it on a daily basis).

Bear in mind, I am only able do the breakaway thing now that I have put in all the up-front time and effort and now have developed enough kinetic energy in my home-based Internet business to be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

RESEARCH

The most important thing to do is research. Researching the company extensively is vital in choosing a business opportunity. Find out how long they have been in business. I like to use the 5 year rule - it is a good measuring stick to see if a company is for real or just a fleeting fad.

Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if the company has any negative comments or complaints. If it is an internet based company read the forums and posts to see what people are saying about them.

You need to be careful with forums and posts because some people in them have ulterior motives. Usually, anyone with common sense can read through those fairly easily. Always remember to keep an open mind when reading posts and forums.

If it is a company that sells products and services, then learn more about their products and see how they compare to leaders in that industry. You want to make sure that you are going to promote quality and reputable products and services. The last thing you want to do is jump in with a company and realize that their products are a joke and that selling them is going to be almost impossible.

ASK QUESTIONS

Now that you have done your homework and know all about the company it is time to start asking questions. These questions should be answered before you invest:

1. What is their compensation plan and how does it compare to the industry average? Find out when they send checks and how often if you are working on commission. I have been caught before investing money advertising a product only to find out that I was not going to receive a check for my sales for 90 days.

2. Ask them about their support program. What tools are they going to provide you with to help you become successful? All quality home based businesses, including MLM, know that the more successful you are, the more profitable they

become.

3. Ask them if they are going to provide you with proven advertisements and marketing methods. You must be able to promote the business or it will fail miserably!!

4. Ask them if they handle all customer support and shipping. If they do, that it is a feather in their cap. That means that you do not have to worry about dealing with customer complaints and shipping troubles.

Do not be afraid to call the company and ask them these questions. A legitimate company will not be hesitant to answer them. Calling them establishes that they are a real entity with real people working the business.

TALK TO OTHER DISTRIBUTORS

See if you can get into contact with other distributors for the company and ask them about their experiences with the company.

1. Do they pay on time?

2. Find out if they really provide the kind of support they advertise.

3. Inquire about the number of refunds and chargebacks that they get each month. Additionally, find out how many of their customers are repeat customers that order monthly.

The distributors are more likely to give you real world answers to these types of questions. If they are willing, the distributors can give you a really good feel for how good the company is to work with.

1. They have a higher than industry average compensation plan.
2. They have a minimal number of bad business complaints.
3. They pay on time.
4. The company offers excellent support to their distributors.

6. They sell quality products or services.

things we need to do is understand the nature of Internet

Read the advertising, the hype, and it seems anyone can make

It's true. You can make lots of money while you sleep. And,
should you choose to do so, you can work in your pajamas.

But what the hype artists don't tell us is that success
takes hard work, discipline and determination. There is no
free lunch, not even on the Internet, and if you fall for
the hype, it will cost money for zero return (if you are
lucky). Why do the hypesters spend their money and effort to
deliver their hype? Look down the page. There's an 'Order
Now' button. It's the money, your money. The hypester can
now earn your money while he sleeps.

Hard work at start

Understand this: any business, on or off the Internet,
requires hard work to get it started. It may eventually run
on autopilot, but in the beginning, it will take hard work,
time, and determination.

Are you ready for that? Because, if not, save time and stop
reading this now. You will be one of the 95% who fail.

No one can simply put up a website (or have one provided by
a company) and expect others to find it. Early in 2005,
there were 56,100,000 commercial websites on the Internet.
Even a website in the top 1% was just one out of 561,000. My
point is this: what chance does your website have of being

the Internet takes work, lots of it, at least until enough
people know about you and your business and can find you
through the search engines.

Why am I being so negative? Because if you are the sort of
person who cannot take the heat in the kitchen, I want you
to get out of it before you get burned.

To some extent, the hypesters are right: making money on the
Internet is easy. But there are no true get-rich-quick
schemes (except for the hipsters if you fall for their
talk).

The Internet is a communications medium. It is a way to get
messages across to others (once they have found your
message). But since they cannot see your eyeballs or read
your facial expressions or body language, you have to win
their trust in other ways (just as I hope to win yours).

Internet presence is about trust

The Internet is not like a store in a mall, and if you want
to be successful with it, you cannot treat it the same way.
Let me make a point: apart from things like e-mails, chats
and games, why do you sign onto the Internet? Isn't it
mostly for information? Now, assuming price is not a factor,
why do you buy from one merchant and not another? Because of
the guarantee or because you read the endorsements about
their service?

The Internet, more than in a store in the mall where you can
see the seller's face, is about trust. And you gain that
trust by providing honest, reliable information.

You can have the greatest product since sliced bread, but it
will rarely sell itself on the Internet. Your work, should
you choose to accept it, will be to get your product noticed
and to get yourself trusted. That is the nature of the
Internet, whether it is used for a home-based business or by
